Anderson Has A New Leader

Cody Anderson burst onto the scene after a rather quiet beginning to the recruiting process. He is now up to seven offers. The talented, big athlete from Apache Junction admitted in the past he was more a fan of UA's basketball team than the football team, but that has now changed.

"My top three now are Arizona, Colorado and Colorado State," said Cody Anderson. "I would say that U of A is my number one school. I have always been a big fan of them and even though their football program has not been so great lately, I definitely think they are on the way up now with Stoops there."

His family is not getting too involved with the decision. "They know it is my decision. Yeah, they would probably like to see me stay close to home, but they are leaving it up to me."

One school close to home that is not showing Anderson much love is the Arizona State. "I have not heard from them in a while. They have not been contacting me at all. They were for a while, but not anymore."

He speaks with the UA staff two-three times a week. "I speak with Coach Kish every week, at least a couple times. They are definitely showing me the most interest right now."

Anderson had his first practice yesterday in pads after beginning fall camp two weeks ago.

Scheduling his official visits will be tricky as the talented big man is also an all-state basketball player. "I will have to take some visits during football season and basketball season. I already have a tentative one set-up to Wyoming in August."

Arizona is recruiting Anderson as a tight end. "I will play whatever position the team needs me at - whether it is tight end or defensive end. I am an all-around athlete so I can do anything."

Anderson has written offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Arizona, UTEP, San Diego State, Utah, and New Mexico State.
