Elmore Brothers Speak On Arizona

Cory and Ricky Elmore have made no bones about the fact that they want to go to the same college. Arizona is one of four schools offering the duo to do just that and the Elmores are leaning towards Tucson. Inside, they explain what is making the University of Arizona such an attractive option for their collegiate careers.

Cory Elmore and Ricky Elmore hail from Grace Brethren High School in Simi Valley, California.

They were two of the more impressive performers at the Arizona elite camp, this summer, and that unofficial visit is where their interest in UA really heated up. "Out of the schools that have offered Ricky and I, our favorite is most likely Arizona," said Cory. "I personally really like Coach Wolford - he is an awesome guy. They have a good staff there and a lot of nice people. Ricky and I want to be surrounded by good people at the college we choose. Arizona is also recruiting us the hardest and our parents really like it there.

"The coach and the staff are real cool," Ricky chimes in. "When we were there, we sat down with the coaches for almost two hours and after that, we really felt we could fit in there. The staff makes you feel at home. Coach Stoops won a national title at Oklahoma after only being there a couple years. The staff has also told me there is a chance I could start as a freshman.

"Arizona was the first school to offer us and we speak with the coaches all the time. My main recruiter is Coach Williams, but I also speak with Coach Robinson and Tuiasosopo pretty often."

The four schools that have offered both players are UA, Wyoming, Utah and Oregon. "Our main four are Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Oregon State," said Ricky.

Oregon State has only verbally offered Cory. "We want to go somewhere that will take both of us," Cory said emphatically.

Ricky has written offers from Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, Wyoming, Utah, Kansas State, and Washington. Cory has written offers from Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Wyoming. Schools are recruiting Ricky at defensive end and Cory at offensive tackle and defensive end.

The two list what they do well on the field. "I have a great attitude and drive," boasts Ricky. "I love to compete and I have good size."

"I can pull and am real agile," says Cory. "I know the offense like the back of my hand. I am good on my feet and I react well."

Arizona is the only school they are talking with regarding an official visit at this point. "We are working with U of A to schedule one in late September," says Ricky. "That is probably the only one we will take during the season."

Academically, both playes project as full qualifiers.

Grace Brethren gets their season underway against Oak Park, and then they have a huge game against Oaks Christian in week two.
