Familiarity at UA for Running Back

"I have written offers from Colorado and Colorado State," explained Demetrius Sumler. "I have a verbal offer from Fresno State and Boise State told me the other day that they are currently sending one."

Sumler is not ready to narrow things down. "I am keeping it open right now so I don't want to name any favorites. I want to see if I get more offers, first."

He claims that most schools, including UA, like him as a big tailback.

Sumler likes all of the schools that have offered, or are talking about it, plus UNLV and Arizona. "I have been hearing a lot from UNLV lately and Arizona has told me they just wanted to see me drop some weight. I have lost 10 pounds.

"I know Jason Parker and Marcus Smith. I like that they have some San Diego guys there. The coaches have just told me they want to see a couple games before an offer is considered, so we'll see what happens."

The running back's mother does not have a preference, but he believes his father is leaning towards Fresno State.

University's first game is tonight, versus Steele Canyon.
