David Carter claims written offers from UTEP, Colorado, Nevada and Boise State. "My top three are Boise State, UTEP and Colorado," says Carter. "I would put Boise State as my favorite. My mom has a friend that tells me good things about them and they also have an 89 percent graduation rate for their players."
He says his mother prefers Boise State and his father does not have a favorite. The defensive lineman says that UTEP and Nevada are recruiting the hardest.
Carter has heard from many schools in September. "I have received calls from UCLA, Arizona, UTEP, Washington, Colorado, Boise State, Nevada, and Utah."
Coach Canales is after him for the Cats. "He saw me at a combine this summer (Scout.com combine in Los Angeles) and tells me he liked what he saw from me. He came by the school recently to check me out. I was lifting weights when he came by. Arizona seems to have a good team that plays with a lot of intensity. I definitely want to take a visit to see what they have to offer."
Most schools are telling Carter they see him as a defensive end. "I am a team player that plays with great intensity. I could play at tight end or defensive end."
He has not scheduled any official visits.
Carter carries a 2.6 core GPA and scored an 800 on the old version of the SAT and an 1162 on the new version. He would like to major in Business.
