Cal Commit May Still Visit Tucson

Defensive End Keith Browner committed to the Cal Bears six weeks ago, and is still committed, but has opened up his recruitment. Arizona is one of the schools he is looking to visit. There is not a player in the nation this fall with more impressive bloodlines than the Dorsey High star.

Keith Browner is the latest in a long line of great players sporting the same last name. The Browner family has been hailed as "The First Family of Football". Keith Browner's father, Keith Sr., played at USC and he had another uncle, Joey, also play for the Trojans in the early 80's. Keith had three other uncles; Ross, Jimmy and Willard play for Notre Dame and start in the same season which was 1976. His sixth uncle, Gerald, signed with Georgia before eventually transferring to Morgan State. Ross, Jimmy, Joey, and Keith all went on to the NFL.

Browner had many options before committing to Cal back in August, and now he is taking a harder look at some of those options. "I have decided to take some visits," Browner claims. "Cal knows I am going to and they say it is fine. They say it is okay for me to go visit some other campuses and check out other environments. I am still committed to Cal, but I want to see some other places."

The main schools he is looking at are Arizona, Oregon, Kansas State, Colorado, and Washington. "I scheduled a visit to Colorado for their game against Missouri, and that is the only visit I have scheduled right now. I am trying to decide between Kansas State and Washington for my fifth visit."

So do any of these schools have a legit chance against the Bears? "I would say that Colorado and Kansas State are the two main ones I am looking at besides the Bears."

Arizona is aslo right there. "I like how the Arizona coaches have stayed aggressive with me. They do not give up on their targets and I like that. I think they have a lot of potential there."

He is being recruited to Tucson by Coach Tui.

All schools involved like Browner as a defensive end, where he has 14 tackles, 14 quarterback pressures, eight tackles for loss, and eight sacks on the season. Dorsey is 3-1 and they take on Van Nuys Birmingham, this Friday night.
