Elite Center Sean Williams

Sean Williams, 6-10 JR C Villa Park (Calif.) High, didn't look like a great prospect two years ago. In fact, Williams was going through such bad growing pains that it was difficult watching him try to run. He couldn't move well and he wasn't real skilled.

Two years later, though, Williams has grown into his body. He's running well, he's filled out and he's become a force around the basket. He has excellent potential as a shot blocker and defenses have to worry about him inside. With continued development, he has a chance to be among the elite big men in the country.

We spoke with Williams yesterday and asked about the schools he's heard from to date.

"Syracuse, Pepperdine, USC, UCLA, Wshington, Oregon, Arizona and Cal," said Williams.

Williams said he hasn't give much thought yet to what he'll be looking for in a school.

We asked if early playing time is an issue for him.

"It is and it isn't," said Williams. "It isn't that big a deal."

When asked if he preferred to stay close to home or go away for college, Williams said, "I'd like to go away."

Williams said he isn't in a rush to decide anytime soon.

"I'll probably take my time -- it won't be until after next summer," said Williams.
