Horne has a leader

Although a Big East school was out to visit, it is a West Coast school that holds the current edge. According to his AAU coach Jamelle Horne has a favorite.

Louisville coach Rick Pitino travelled to San Diego, Ca., earlier this week to check out Jamelle Horne, a 6-foot-7 junior forward from San Diego High School.

"I think he likes Louisville, but they've got some catching up to do with Arizona," Horne's AAU coach Etop-Udoma said.

According to Udoma, Horne has a scholarship offer from Arizona, and the Wildcats have climbed to the top of his list. He also took an unofficial visit to Arizona last month.

"Arizona is definitely in the lead," Udoma said. "They offered a month ago, and I don't know that Louisville has but I doubt it. He's already made an unofficial visit to Arizona and they are trying to get it done. They're working him as hard as they can. Plus, he's pretty good friends with Jarryd Bayless."

Horne currently has a working list of about 6-8 schools, and he's about to trim that list down. Who will make the cut?

"Arizona for sure," said Udoma. "Then probably Louisville, Georgia Tech and Washington. Those are probably his top four."
