JUCO All-American is a Cat

Although next weekend appears to be the big recruiting weekend for the Wildcat football team, the Cats did have a pair of recruits in town this weekend. One of those recruits apparently pulled the trigger Saturday night.

According to sources close to the recruitment, El Camino College defensive back Nate Ness has committed to Arizona. Ness apparently pulled the trigger over dinner with a few of the Wildcat coaches.

Ness had long favored the Wildcats. Earlier this week he indicated that he would commit if the visit went well.

"If this weekend goes like I think it will then there is a great big chance that I leave Arizona a Wildcat," Ness said. "I would say that I will most likely be a Wildcat at this time next week. I want to be a part of the Wildcat program. It is on its way up and starting next year it is going be awesome."

Ness had 19 interceptions in his two years at El Camino, eight of which he returned for touchdowns.

The 6-3 Ness is a tall safety who is also good in coverage. He was named a first team JC Grid-Wire All-American.

Cat Tracks will catch up with Ness for an interview after his visit is completed.
