Just wants to make sure

Devin Ross, 5-11, 180, Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Rancho Cucamonga HS, was supposed to announce his decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on where he intends to spend the next four or five years of his life.

But he didn't.

Ross indicated that while he only has two remaining candidates, Oregon and Arizona, he just wanted to make sure of his decision.

"I wasn't quite ready, I want to make the right decision, instead of going on instinct I want to make sure about what I do, about the decision I make," Ross explained. "I don't want to make any mistakes."

Ross made a face and shook his head no when asked about a rumor circulating that USC has started recruiting him heavily lately.

"I still haven't received an offer," said Ross of any recruitment by USC. "So they're out of the picture."

Ross is going to hold off and make his announcement in the next couple of weeks, possibly on ESPN.

The U.S. Army game was enjoyable for Ross despite the loss suffered by the West squad.

"The game came out pretty well, said Ross of the game. "The offense came out a little flat but the defense played well."

The East squad won 27-16 over the West.
