Update On Zane Johnson

Zane Johnson, 6-5 JR SF/SG Phoenix (Ariz.) Thunderbird, is a very good shooter with an excellent feel for the game. Johnson is one of the best wing prospects in the west for 2007 and we asked him recently about his list of schools.

"It's pretty much the same as before," said Johnson. "Arizona, UCLA, USC, Gonzaga, Indiana and Illinois are the main ones right now."

When asked if any schools stand out from rest, Johnson replied, "Probably UCLA, Gonzaga, Arizona and USC." We asked Johnson if he has made any plans to take unofficial visits to schools.

"I may visit Arizona and UCLA on unofficial visits in the spring," said Johnson. "I've been to Arizona State a few times already."

Johnson said he'd like to get his recruitment done sooner rather than later.

"I kind of want to get it done before the summer," said Johnson.

Johnson is having a very good junior season, averaging 26 points and seven rebounds a game to date.

CAT TRACKS' ANALYSIS: Johnson has always been an intriguing prospect and is now really turning heads. The Wildcats have their eye on the Phoenix product, but for now they are more serious about the likes of Jamelle Horne and Kyle Singler.
