Cats add another to 2007 class

The Wildcats had a rough week on the court but got some fantastic news from a top 2007 recruit. Last year the Cats pulled Chase Budinger out of San Diego for the 2006 class. Well, Chase won't be the only San Diegan on the Wildcat roster a year later.

San Diego wing Jamelle Horne committed to the Wildcats after a Monday meeting with Lute Olson.

"We verbally committed to the Wildcats today," said Jamelle's father Johnny. "Tell the world about it, tell the world."

Horne, a 6-8 wing from San Diego Senior High School is the third 2007 player to commit to the Wildcats. He's's No. 12 small forward and a four-star recruit. He joins center Alex Jacobson and guard Jerryd Bayless in pledging to the Cats.

"Him, Jerryd and Chase could be crazy," said Horne's AAU coach Etop Udo-Ema. "That could be one unbelievable backcourt."

Horne is very athletic, but has a great feel for the game. He can pass, defend and rebound as well as score.

"He has a chance to be whatever he wants to be," Udo-Ema said.

The Horne family was having dinner when we called to confirm the commitment and we will have an interview later this evening.
