Most of the elite programs in the country have already been in contact with Gordon and he mentioned a few of them to us in a recent conversation.
We asked Gordon what he's looking for in a college.
"A school that fits what I can do on the court," said Gordon. "Someplace where the coaches know how I work and process things, so we can work well together. A coach who cares about his players."
Gordon said location is not an issue.
"I adapt pretty well, that's not a big thing," said Gordon.
On the issue of early playing time, Gordon said, "I'd like to get some minutes, but if the team chemistry is such that they're playing well and winning without me, I'd be fine with that."
When asked if he had a favorite college basketball team growing up, Gordon replied, "I wasn't into basketball when I was younger. I was into ice hockey. There are some rinks around here and I was more into that."
Gordon hasn't had too much involvement with his recruitment to date. He said he's not sure if any schools have already extended scholarship offers.
"My coach handles all the calls and stuff," said Gordon. "I'm not sure about any offers yet."
Gordon doesn't anticipate any unofficial visits in the near future.
"If I was going someplace with my family and there was a school on the way, then maybe," said Gordon. "But I wouldn't take any trips just to go see a school."
When questioned about a timeframe for his decision, Gordon said, "I'd like to wait until my senior year. If a school really appeals to me, I could decide early. But I'd like to try to hold out until my senior year."
CAT TRACKS ANALYSIS: Gordon is a guy the Cats have been in on for some time. Although he is not listing the Wildcats right now, it would be a surprise if the Cats aren't a factor in his recruitment down the line.
