Clarence Trent, 6-7 SO PF Gig Harbor (Wash.) High, had a coming out party this past weekend at the Las Vegas Easter Classic.

An explosive athlete, Trent made several plays that had scouts and coaches saying to one another, "did you see that?" Trent has a very good basketball body, with big feet and hands, and the appearance of someone who might still be growing. He's grown at least an inch since we saw him last summer. His shot isn't yet consistent, but he knocked down a couple threes over the weekend and he should eventually be pretty good from the perimeter.

We spoke with Trent recently and asked him about the schools that have shown early interest in him.

"I haven't really had any schools recruiting me," said Trent. "I haven't had coaches coming out to my school to see me. Some of the ones I'd like to hear from would be Arizona, Syracuse, Louisville, Illinois and Washington."

We asked Trent what he is looking for in a school.

"A good program where I can fit in and they play the way I like to play -- I like to get up and down," said Trent.

Trent said he's in no hurry to choose a school.

"I'm going to take my time and probably not decide until my senior year," said Trent.
