Reports: Williams to test the waters

Although nothing has been confirmed from the program, reports are surfacing that Marcus Williams has declared for the NBA draft.

Multiple sources, including Foxsports.com have insisted that Williams will enter the draft but not hire an agent. The freshman wing was an All-Pac-10 Freshman Team performer and led all conference freshmen with averaged 13.0 points a game.

He was one of three Wildcats to play in all 33 games and started 25. He showed great versatility in playing every position except for center, but projects as a two guard in the NBA.

Right now most scouting services have him listed as a second rounder, with just an outside shot at the first round.

He joins junior point guard Mustafa Shakur in declaring for the draft. Like Williams Shakur has not hired an agent. Last season Chris Rodgers tested the waters but returned for his senior season.
