"They are getting off to a good start in the mornings," Mackovic said of the early morning enthusiasm. "WE may adjust our morning practices in two-a-days. We may start earlier and allow the players to get more rest in the middle of the day."
The season will kick off with Pac-10 media day on July 31st. Mackovic and quarterback Jason Johnson will represent the University in Los Angeles.
Rookie report six days later, but a number of them are already enrolled in Summer School and working out with the team.
"It allows a recruited athlete to work with some supervision," Mackovic said. "It is especially critical for weight training. Sometimes on their own they put themselves at risk."
