That seems to be the case Thursday night.
Although reports of a Bayless de-commitment surfaced from a few different sources they appear to be false. According to several sources close to the recruitment Bayless informed the Wildcat staff that he was "100% committed" to the program.
Just a few weeks ago Bayless told Wildcat Insider that he was firmly committed.
"I'm firm to Arizona still," he said at the time. He also noted that he was trying to recruit other players to Arizona.
Despite the fall verbal commitment, including a press conference at his high school, teams have continued to pursue Scout.com's third rated point guard. With Arizona having a "down year" by their standards, many teams hoped to capitalize.
Bayless wasn't worried when we last spoke with him.
"With Chase (Budinger) coming in and me coming in, I think we'll get it to the high tradition that the Arizona Wildcats usually have," Bayless said.
It is not sure where the rumors started. One of the sources Wildcat Insider spoke with called the reports "internet rumor and innuendo".
