Recruiting Tidbits (05/16)

Wildcat coaches continue to hand out more offers. The football team wants to make sure they get early offers to enough elite players so that they don't have to play catch-up. Here is an update on a few of these new prospects.

Linebacker Jermaine Love of North Garland, TX has an Arizona offer and the Cats are among his favorites.

"I like Arizona a lot," Love said. "I like where the program is going. Mike Stoops is rebuilding things and he runs the same defense as he did at Oklahoma."

At just about 6-0 and 205 pounds, Love needs may need to add weight but he runs a 4.46 and benches 330. Right now the Wildcats, Iowa State and Oklahoma are his leaders and all three have offered. Washington State, Oklahoma State, Texas, Nebraska and Texas A&M have also offered.

Wide out Zion Babb of Alhambra, CA has just two offers, but they are not a bad pair. In addition to the Wildcats, Michigan has also offered. He is being recruited by Coach Mike Tuiasasopo and has said that he "definitely wants to visit."

He's the son of former USC track star Lance Babb, Zion Babb. Last season he caught 54 passes for 919 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Another wide out, Gardena, CA's Anthony Boyles, has over 12 offers. Right now he has Arizona listed third behind Oregon State and Washington but claims a "high interest in Arizona."

He's also looking at Washington State, Oregon, Michigan and others. He's got great height (6-3) and speed (4.37) and has been dubbed "Showtime" by his teammates.

Last season he had over 60 catches for 920 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Another Gardena Serra player is listing the Cats. We've been told that Apaiata Tuihalamaka can basically play anywhere in the front seven and is just a terrific talent. He grew up playing rugby before taking up football. He has family in Mesa and is working on making it out to the Wildcats' elite camp in June.

Savai Eselu is a TE/DL from Hawaii who is just starting to make a name for himself. He has written offers from Arizona and UNLV and verbal offers from Cal and Stanford. Right now he claims the Cats and Bears are his leaders.

A bright kid, he carries a 3.7 GPA. He wants to either major in mechanical engineering or sports medicine.

Right now he wants to make an unofficial to Tucson over the summer and will attend the Cal and Stanford team camps.
