It looks like the Cat coaching staff is going to try and add two linebackers for this class and they just added their top target to the commitment list. Sacramento (CA) Grant High School is the home of one of the better linebackers in the country for the 2007 class in Terrance Pritchett, who just committed to the Wildcats.
"I just called and committed to Arizona," said an obviously happy 4-Star Pritchett. "I really liked Arizona all along. The only other schools that I really was thinking about were UCLA and Notre Dame. Those are really only the three schools I was looking at seriously."
Pritchett is being recruited to Arizona by his would be position coach Tim Kish and the two have developed a very strong bond according to ‘Pritch'.
"Man, Coach Kish is tight," he said with a laugh. "All of these other coaches call me and try and fill my head with a bunch of stuff and Coach Kish keeps it real and is honest, and he is a very funny guy. When I called and committed he was so excited man. He has told me all along that I was his number one guy and I believe him."
Pritchett joins a growing list of Wildcats to commit to Arizona before ever even setting foot on campus. According to Terrance it doesn't matter to him that h hasn't seen the campus yet.
"I don't really care that I haven't seen it yet, I am a Wildcat," said the very excited Pritchett. "I have been talking to Coach Kish and I know he isn't going to shoot me wrong. He is a great guy. He has talked to my mom a couple of times and she really wanted me to go to Arizona too. I will see the campus and the school and everything when I go on my official visit in October."
For Pritchett his decision came down to the relationship he had built with Coach Kish and the fact that Kish will be his position coach made the difference.
"Coach Kish being my recruiter and my position coach is just perfect," he said. "I got to know him and if I am going to spend four or five years of my life with someone I would want it to be him. He is just a great guy and you can trust him. All of the other coaches try and fill your head with a bunch of just stuff but he doesn't do that, he always shoots you straight. My mom and I both trust him and we both really like him, he is great."
Making an early decision was becoming key for Terrance. He went on to say that he really wanted to know where he was going so he could get on with his senior season and not have to worry about anything.
"Yeah, I mean, now I can go into my last year and relax and have fun," he said. "I want to keep studying and have a great senior season so I can go to Arizona and help build Arizona into something special. Now I can do that."
Pritchett said that he wants to major in ‘anything that will let me be around football for my whole life." He has a 2.5 GPA and recently scored a 19 on the ACT so he should have little or no trouble qualifying.
Terrance is the sixth public commitment for the Wildcats for the 2007 class.
