Arizona hangs tough, falls to USC

Arizona did not want a 'moral victory' but may have gotten just that, at least on the defensive end. The Wildcats traded punches with the nation's third ranked team but lost 20-3.

Despite not being able to move the ball offensively, USC could not put away the Wildcats until the final moments of the game. Mike Thomas muffed a punt at his own nine and one play later Emmanuel Moody ran nine yards for the final score of the game.

Thanks to a pair of long runs, Moody finished with 130 yards.

USC did not score until second period when Mario Danelo booted a 35-yard field goal. It was the only score of the first half.

USC finally found the endzone on the first drive of the second half. Thanks to a 40-yard Moody run the Trojans drove deep into Arizona category. The Trojans had a Steve Smith score taken off the board thanks to a replay reveral, but two plays later Booty rolled out and found Dwayne Jerrett in the corner of the endzone.

USC would tack on another field goal before the late score sealed things for the Trojans.

Tuitama 14-24 for 169 yards. He was also sacked five times.
