Three Cats named first team All-Pac-10

Three Wildcats made the Pac-10's All-Conference first team and three others were named second teamers. Antoine Cason, Syndric Steptoe and Nick Folk were all named to the first team the Pac-10 announced on Monday

Cason, a junior, was named to the first team defense. The corner back was twice named Pac-10 defensive player of the week and had the game winning score against Cal. All told Cason had three picks, seven pass break-ups and a fumble recovery. He was third on the team with 62 tackles, two for loss. Cason was a second team selection a year ago.

Steptoe was named All-Conference kick returner, while Folk was named the conference's best punter. Both are seniors. Steptoe averaged 25.6 yards per kickoff return and also led the team in receiving.

Folk averaged 44 yards a punt, downing 24 inside the 20. He was also the teams' leading scorer with 67 points.

Louis Holmes, Spencer Larsen and Michael Johnson were all named to the second team. Larsen led the Cats with 89 tackles, an impressive 10.5 for loss, including two sacks. Holmes led the Cats with four sacks and four quarterback hurries. Johnson missed the last two games of the season, but still had 47 tackles and a pick.

Yaniv Barnett, Eben Britton, Lionel Dotson, Chris Henry and Mike Thomas were honorable mentions to the team.

It is the most players selected to the first team since 2002 when Lance Briggs, Ray Wells and Bobby Wade all made the team. The six selections are the most since 1999 when seven players were picked to the two teams.
