"It was good, I liked it a lot," Tuipulotu said. "It was surprising to me. It was a lot more spread out than I thought it was going to be and I really liked that. It is definitely a college town but it has a city kind of feel too. I liked it there. The campus was real nice and the weight room is awesome, I think it is the best in the country."
While in Tucson Kaniela was hosted by fellow Hawaiian defensive tackle Lolomana Mikakele and the two hit it off according to Tuipulotu.
"I was hosted by Lolomana," he said. "He is a fun guy and we hung around with a lot of the other guys on the team. We hung around with Paul Philipp and Conan (Amituanai) and all of those guys were real cool."
Tuipulotu is being recruiter by Arizona's lead Hawaii recruiter, defensive tackles coach Mike Tuiasosopo.
"Coach Tui is a good guy," commented Tuipulotu. "He always shoots me straight and is a real honest guy. He is a real intense guy about football. He has been recruiting me since my junior year and I have gotten to know him pretty well and I like him."
On Sunday, Kaniela had his one on one visit with head coach Mike Stoops and the meeting went well.
"Coach Stoops is all about football," he said. "He really emphasized the school part of it and said that he expects all of his players to do well in their education. He is a real intense guy too; all of the coaches are really intense."
Even though it was just his first official visit, Kaniela admitted that he was very tempted to just end his recruitment while in Tucson.
"I was really tempted to commit when I was there," he admitted. "I decided that I needed to make at least another visit but I know that Arizona is a great school and I would do good there."
Other than Arizona Kaniela says that he has just one other visit set up and is considering another third visit also.
"I am going to visit Utah on January 12th," he said. "I might visit Oregon State too but I don't know for sure yet about that one. I like Utah and Arizona the most but I really thought hard about committing to Arizona when I was there, it was great there."
WildcatInsider.com will keep in close contact with Kaniela as his recruitment continues.
