2007 Recruiting Class - Offense

Arizona recruited speed and quickness on the offensive side of the ball, making this class a perfect fit for the new schemes Dykes looks to implement for the 2007-08 campaign.

The following players will be lining up on the offensive side of the ball.

BIOGRAPHY

 Bryson Beirne

Bryson Beirne

QB

Beirne is built like a linebacker so he can take a hit at the QB spot.  He has a solid arm and physically fits the mold of a prototypical spread offense QB.  He will definitely red shirt although he is working to be the backup form day one.

 Nicholas Grigsby

Nicholas Grigsby

RB

Grigsby is a true running back.  He has great ability in the open field and he can get the corner with them best of ‘em.  Very attentive football player with natural running back instincts.  A move to the secondary is possible.

 Joseph Reese

Joseph Reese

RB

Reese is a big running back with great field vision.  Has the ability to get the corner as well as powering the ball between the tackles.  Strong and coachable athlete with great bloodlines.  He could end up with his brother at receiver.

 Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski

TE

Gronkowski is a physical freak for a high school tight end.  Immensely strong and he loves to block and hit people.  Very soft hands for a big man and he moves well in the open field but isn't afraid to lower his head when needed.

William ‘Bug' Wright

WR

Wright played 8-man football until his senior year in high school.  A ‘scat-back' type of slot receiver.  He resembles Steptoe or Wilrey Fontenot and will fit the Dykes spread offense very nicely.  Can also return kicks and punts.

 David Roberts

David Roberts

WR

Like Veal, Roberts plays fast and is a very smooth receiver.  He has a knack for getting open and is very dangerous in the open field.  He is similar in ability to former Wildcat and current Tennessee Titan Bobby Wade.

Devin Veal

WR

Veal is a very smooth athlete that has the tools to play on either side of the ball.  What he lacks in straight 40 speed he makes up for by playing the game fast.  He will start at receiver but a move to safety might be in his future.

Alex Zendejas

PK

Zendejas is the type of kicker you would expect with that name.  He has a very powerful leg and is capable of nailing a field goal from as far out as 60.  He can also punt but will be a kicker only for UA.
