*Utah leads the all-time series 17-14-2 and is 7-7-2 in Tucson. The Utes have not won in the Old Pueblo since 1967 and have not beaten the Cats in the regular season since 1972. The Cats won the last meeting 17-3 to open the 2000 season.
*RB Marty Johnson was leading the nation in rushing but injured his knee against Indiana and will not play against Arizona. ASU transfer J.R. Peroulis will play in his place.
*QB Lance Rice is 12-5 as Utah's starter. Jason Johnson is 6-6 as the Wildcats' starting signal caller.
*Arizona's 407.0 passing yard average is second in the nation and first in the Pac-10. The stat is misleading since the Wildcats have played just one game. The Wildcats rank top-10 nationally in 13 categories and lead the Pac-10 in 11.
*Arizona will welcome back offensive linemen Makoa Freitas and Keoki Fraser. These two starters should strengthen the line which has a tough test against a talented Utah defense.
*Arizona trails only the University of Hawaii in the number of starters from the Islands. The Cats start three. Freitas and Fraser are joined by Joe Siofele.
