"My grades," Togiai said. "All I have to do it get my grades up. All of those schools are telling me I have to get my grades up and they will offer me."
Right now he isn't listing any favorites, but has mentioned a preference for playing in the Pac-10.
"They are all pretty much all even right now," he said of the teams showing interest.
He has spent a lot of time over the spring and summer hitting the combines and attending camps. He has taken visits to UCLA, ASU, Colorado and Arizona. He camped with both the Wildcats and Sun Devils.
He had a good experience in Tucson over the weekend.
"It was fun I learned a lot of things from a lot of the coaches," Togiai said.
The Desert Vista lineman noted that he likes the Wildcat coaches quite a bit. He's being recruited by Tim Kish and got a lot of attention from possible position coaches Mike Tuiasasopo and Joe Robinson at the camp.
The 6-3, 260-poumder plays defensive end in high school but could probably play either defensive line spot in college. Arizona seems to be recruiting him as a defensive end, although Togiai could outgrow the position if he indeed gets to the weight he thinks he will top out at. "I like playing defensive end in high school but when I get to the next level I'm pretty sure I'll be playing inside because I'll bulk up," said Togiai. "I can get to 280, 285 and still keep my speed up." He is going to wait awhile to see what other offers develop before he makes any decisions.
Last season he had 32 tackles, four sacks, eight force fumbles, and four fumble recoveries playing in a 3-3-5 defense.
