Game Notes: Arizona/Wisconsin

The Wildcats' will face their toughest test of the year when they head to Madison, Wisconsin and a showdown with the Badgers. Wisconsin is 4-0 and will pose the toughest non-conference test for the team since Ohio State ventured to Tucson in 2000. There are a number of interesting sub-plots to the game.

*It is the first ever meeting between the two clubs.

*The Badgers are 17-1 in their last 18 non-conference games at Camp Randall Stadium.

*QB Brooks Bollinger will tie a school record for victories by a quarterback with his next win.

*Arizona coach John Mackovic was 4-0 against the Badgers while head coach at Illinois.

*With Saturday's game, Wisconsin will have played every team in the Pac-10.

*The Badgers are 14-21-1 against Pac-10 schools, but current coach Barry Alvarez is 6-3-1 against Pac-10 opponents.

*Arizona assistant coach Rob Ianello was the Badger's recruiting coordinator from 1990-93 before joining the Arizona staff.

*Wisconsin is set for a return game in Tucson on September 18, 2004.

*Wisconsin has one player from Arizona on their roster (TE Mark Bell) while the Wildcats have no players who hail from Wisconsin. Kevin Barry, a lineman now playing for the Green Bay Packers who was a starter last season, is from Wisconsin.

*The Badgers lead the nation in takeaways with 14. Arizona quarterback Jason Johnson is second in the nation in total offense.

*Six of the Badger's last 18 wins have been fourth quarter comebacks.
