By noon there were less than 20 players needing to report, and those who were on hand were reallypumped up. After a summer spent working out, it is obvious that guys are ready for camp to begin.
The results of the offseason weight room work were apparent. Tuitama looked leaner, as did Brandyn McCall, while guys like Corey Hall and Mike Thomas have added a good deal of muscle. Hall, for one, looked more like a linebacker than a defensive back.
Other players changed their looks. Delashaun Dean cut off his braids, while McCall has a clean cut look. On the flip side, fullback Brooks Reed has grown his hair out, giving him the longest hair of any Wildcat since Clay Hardt.
The actual process was pretty basic. Players picked up uniforms, were fitted with helmets and shoulder pads and got their cleets. They filled out a little paperwork and were gone.
The whole thing went fairly smooth, despite the presence of the local media.
The Cats take the field Thursday night at 5:45 for their first practice.
