Barbour changes his mind

Arizona's had been on a recruiting tear the past few months. The Cats already had over half their 2008 class verbally committed. That momentum slowed a bit on Wednesday night.

Just a week and a half after verbally committing to the Wildcats, Peoria WR/DB Jarrell Barbour decommitted from the Wildcats and has given his verbal pledge rival Arizona State.

Barbour cited distance from home and the offensive systems as his main reason for the change of heart.

"I like ASU's offense a little better," Barbour said.

He also mentioned on two occasions in the brief interview that he felt it was important to be closer to home.

Although he has already changed his mind once, he claims that people should not expect any more changes of heart.

"It is a done deal," he admitted.

It is not a real common occurrence to have a player decommit from one of the in-state schools and commit to the other. Barbour admitted a lot of time and thought went into the decision.

"It was really hard actually," Barbour concluded.
