What will he play in college? My opinion, he is better suited to play WR. Many doubted his abilities as a wideout and most cited his lack of playing time at the position as the reason. Well, he has proven those doubters wrong. He is a dangerous weapon at receiver and opposing coaches NEED to know where he is lining up.
He runs smooth, long strides and has the size at 6-4 to out jump/outreach smaller corners. His speed is not world-class but is good enough. He doesn't trap the ball when he catches it and will make people miss. Robinson has the skills to be a receiver that will go over the middle and make catches, he isn't go to beat a Pac-10 corner in a foot race but his size will allow him to be effective running short hooks/slants and forcing the smaller DB to tackle him. He can make people miss in the open field and I think this is how he will be utilized.
I also said he is a D1 QB and I stand by that. Does he have the greatest mechanics? No. But he has a strong arm and is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He is not a pocket passer by any means. He is a dual threat QB in the mold of Vince Young (and no I am not comparing the two).
Robinson has committed to the University of Arizona and he says as a QB.
