Douglas "excited" about Cats

Some wondered who David Douglas was when the little-known wide out pledged to Arizona over the summer. He may not yet be a household name, but he is putting up the numbers to justify that kind of talk.

"I had another big game last week," said Douglas, a 6-, 175 pounder from McKinney North High School in McKinney, TX.

He wasn't kidding either. He caught eight passes for 139 yards and a touchdown. He added a kick off return for a score and had a second TD reception called back due to a penalty.

His team is 4-0 and for the season and Douglas has been putting up big numbers. Since he committed to Arizona a lot of the phone calls have stopped, but the better he does, the more mails and inquiries he gets.

Despite teams starting to get in the picture, Douglas says emphatically that he is firmly committed to the Wildcats.

"Oh yeah, I solid," Douglas stated.

Despite the team's up and down season, Douglas loves what he sees from the offense. He was in town for the NAU game and has watched whatever games he can.

"I'm really excited to be coming," Douglas said. "I love the offense."

Douglas talks to Wildcat coaches about once a week and feels like he knows exactly what is going on in the program.

He says that he is not worried about rankings or being underrated by recruiting services.

"I just go out there and do what I can," Douglas said. "I don't try to impress anyone. I just do my best."
