Wildcat Insider Pac-10 Poll

Stanford stunned the nation by beating USC at the Coliseum. Notre Dame put the touchdown back into Touchdown Jesus in beating UCLA. Oregon State beat up on Arizona and Arizona State escaped Pullman with a well-earned victory. Even without Cal and Oregon playing games last weekend, the Pac-10 was as topsy-turvy as ever.

TEAM (first place votes),record, points

California (20) 5-0, 2-0 Pac-10, 200

Oregon 4-1, 1-1 Pac-10, 173

USC 4-1, 2-1 Pac-10, 155

Arizona State 6-0, 3-0 Pac-10, 147

UCLA 4-2, 3-0 Pac-10, 113

Washington 2-3, 0-2 Pac-10, 94

Oregon State 3-3, 1-2 Pac-10, 90

Arizona 2-4, 1-2 Pac-10, 47

Stanford 2-3, 1-3 Pac-10, 43

Washington State 2-4, 0-3 Pac-10, 38

Stanford's one point victory over USC was good enough to drop the Trojans two full spots in the Pac-10 rankings.  The direct benefactors were Cal and Oregon who didn't even play last weekend.

The Bears inherit the top spot from USC along with all 20 of the first place votes.  The Ducks slide into second.

Arizona State gained ground as well.  Although they remain in the fourth spot, they picked up votes and are now only eight points shy of surpassing USC.

The Sun Devils are followed by UCLA and Washington at five and six, respectively.  Oregon State is ranked seventh just ahead of an Arizona team who they beat handily in Corvallis.

Despite beating USC, Stanford only moves up one spot from the conference cellar although they did gain ground on the Wildcats.  Washington State moves to the bottom of the Pac-10 and will most likely remain there as long as they're winless in conference.
