Cats drop to Card

It was a bleak scene after Arizona fell to Stanford 21-20 at Arizona Stadium. It was a game where Arizona appeared to be the better team for much of the game but could not find a way to finish off the Cardinal.

Arizona failed to take advantage of three Cardinal second half turnovers. Two interceptions and a fumble led to just three points. They opened both halves with scoring drives, but had just two other scoring drives the rest of the way.

Stanford's Jeremy Stewart scored from one-yard out with 5:54 to play and the Wildcats could not mount a comeback.

Spencer Larsen had a terrific game. The senior linebacker had 14 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery.

Nicholas Grigsby rushed 24 times for 126 yards, but failed to garner a first down on two second half third and shorts.

Arizona drops to 2-6 on the year and will play Washington next week.
