RB pledges to Cats

Arizona not only got a win over UCLA this weekend, they also added another piece to the offensive puzzle. A player who was thought to be leaning elsewhere, decided to pull the trigger and become a Wildcat.

Ryan Bass finally made it to Tucson and has committed to Arizona. The four-star recruit not only made an official visit, he verballed to the Wildcats.

"He called us and told us he committed," Bass' brother Dion told WildcatInsider. "He did commit."

Bass had other tentative visit dates, but never had anything finalized until this weekend.

Bass is rated as the 25th best runner in the nation and is one of the best on the West Coast. He joins speedy Keola Antolin as runners in the class.

Bass was looking at a number of programs, including ASU and Minnesota.

He was one of five visitors this weekend. His teammate at Centennial High School in Corona, CA quarterback Matt Scott was another visitor. Scott is also committed to Arizona.

Also on hand were Fresno CB Robert Golden, Stockton LB DeWitt Stuckey and Garden City, KS WR Broderick Smith.

Golden has told WildcatInsider and other recruiting services that he'd like to keep out of the recruiting spotlight for awhile. He declined to be interviewed about details of this visit and other recruiting news.

WildcatInsider hopes to speak with Bass later tonight and get more details on the visit and commitment.
