"I really liked it a lot," said Smith. "It was a real good trip; I had a lot of fun. I got to hang around with a lot of the young players and I saw the campus and it was all nice. I liked the campus and the buildings and facilities were real nice. My host was William Wright and I liked him a lot, he is a real cool guy."
Smith is being recruited by running backs coach Mike Smith. Brodrick has known the Arizona coach his entire life so the Cats have an ace in the hole with Broderick.
"Mike Smith is recruiting me and I have known him for a long time," Brodrick remarked. "He has known me for my whole life basically so I know he isn't going to lie to me or anything. He is always going to look out for me."
The Wildcats were able to pull out yet another exciting win on Homecoming weekend and Brodrick admitted that the game was the highlight of his visit to Tucson. So much so that he seriously thought about ending his recruitment while on the visit.
"The game was great," he said. "I really like the offense and how they spread the field and just go for it. The wide receivers are allowed to go out and have fun and the offense is a real fun offense to be a part of. I really wanted to commit on my visit but I wanted to wait and talk to my family about it. I want to take my last two visits to Wyoming this weekend and to Minnesota."
Smith went on to admit that it is basically going to come down to two schools for him with Arizona having a pretty large lead at this stage of the process.
"Arizona is different from Kansas, very different," said Smith. "I kind of want to get out of Kansas and be somewhere different and that is Arizona. It is pretty likely that I will end up going to Arizona but I want to wait and make sure that it is really the right place for me. Kansas State is the other school at the top and I really like them too but I would say Arizona is likely where I will go."
Brodrick Smith is a 6'2 athlete and he plays quarterback right now. He had over 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns for his team that finished their season at 4-5. Smith reports a 3.1 GPA and should have no problems qualifying.
