Signing Day: Emmanuel Negedu

The 2008 class needed to become one of the best in recent memory for the Arizona men's basketball program. Arizona needed to put themselves back on the map in the recruiting world after a few rough seasons on the court. While the 2008 class has received a lot of pub, it can't be ignored that it's first member set the tone for a terrific class. That individual was 6'7 power forward Emmanuel Negedu.

WildcatInsider.com continues the theme of the day, catching up with Emmanuel Negedu on the first day for 2008 players to sign their letters of intent.

Wildcat Insider: We see that you've already began your senior year of high school basketball. How are things going so far?

Emmanuel Negedu: Things are going well. We've already played two games, and have a game tonight. We've done pretty good. Our first two games haven't been close at all which has been good to see.

Personally, I think I've been playing well. I got a triple double in our last game where I had twelve blocked shots.

Wildcat Insider: How is the process going in terms of signing your letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Arizona?

Emmanuel Negedu: I signed my letter of intent to play basketball for Arizona earlier today. I'm very excited.

Wildcat Insider: How are things going in terms of getting ready for your career at the U of A?

Emmanuel Negedu: I'm just trying to come together as a player and trying to get better as an all around player. I'm having a lot of fun getting ready, but am also working very hard to become a better player. I've just been working on my ball handling and shooting skills for the most part.

Wildcat Insider: In your personal opinion, what's the best part of your game?

Emmanuel Negedu: I think the best part of my game is that I love to play hard. I love rebounding and playing defense, but for the most part I enjoy doing everything well out on the basketball court.

Wildcat Insider: Has the Arizona coaching staff discussed their plans for you next year as a Wildcat and over your tenure as a Wildcat?

Emmanuel Negedu: Yeah, they said they want to work on me to play the wing position, but also be able to play down low in the paint. I prefer to play the wing position, but I can play any position. It doesn't matter where I play because I'll just keep playing hard and try to do my best.

WildcatInsider.com will continue to provide you with the most up to date stories regarding Emmanuel Negedu's commitment as they become available.
