Aussie tames the Roos

Arizona started off slowly, but rebounded and blew out Missouri-Kansas City 81-62. The Wildcat bench played well, and Daniel Dillon had a career night, while Jerryd Bayless was in the hunt for a triple-double.

Dillon, who battled foul trouble, scored 14 points, shooting a perfect 4-4 from the field.

The real story was the freshman guards. Jerryd Bayless continues to make the college game look easy. He scored 20 points, his second straight 20+ game. He also dished out nine assists and grabbed nine rebounds.

Laval Lucas-Perry had a nice night. With Dillon battling foul trouble, the freshman guard saw significant minutes. With his father in attendance, he scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds.

Jordan Hill scored 14 points but was limited in the second half after turning his ankle. Chase Budinger added 11.

Brent Stephens scored 16 points and Reggie Hamilton added 11 for UMKC (1-3).

The Cats jumped out to a early 11-4 lead but then watched as UMKC scored 16 of the next 21 to go up by as many as four.

Bayless had his own 7-0 run to regain the lead before the half.

The Cats came out hot in the second half. They led by as many as 22 before getting the 19-point win.
