Notebook: Brandon Jennings vs. St. Benedicts

It wasn't the best performance for Brandon Jennings, but he did show some flashes of what makes him a top10 player. Here are notes from the game between Oak Hill and St. Benedicts.

*Early on he was playing zone. *Played off the ball early on. When he did have the ball in his hands he looked more comfortable.

*Nailed early three, but missed his next two shots. Overall the shot was off all night long and finished below his season average.

*Fran Fraschilla says Jennings and Jrue Holiday are the two best players in 2008 class.

*Seemed to be hampered by the smaller court. It nullified his quickness a bit.

*Played the wing on the zone at times.

*Even when he makes a bad decision off the dribble, he can still find open man. Drove the lane, got stuck near the foul line but found a man on the wing for the three.

*Showed off his explosiveness on a dunk off the break.

*Started to take over in the third quarter. The shot was never consistent, but he was starting to knock things down a bit more often.

*Late in the 3rd St. Benedict's begins running a box and one on Brandon Jennings. It did not shut him down, but it made *Missed one of two FT' sin final 1:30 with Oak Hill down seven.

*All told it was an average performance for Jennings. He did not shoot well from the outside and missed a few too many lay-ins. Did a good job getting his teammates involved, but they had trouble finishing.
