Bayless leads the Cats past the Dogs

Arizona used a late first half run to take a comanding lead and cruised to a 69-50 win over Fresno State.

After a week off for finals the Wildcats looked rusty early on and trailed FSU 17-15. From there the Wildcats went on a 20-2 run to break the game wide open.

They continued the run in the early second half and led by as many as 29 in the second half.

Fresno closed out the game by outscoring the Wildcats 18-7, but did most of that against the Arizona reserves.

Three Wildcats were in double figures. Jerryd Bayless scored 23 points, while Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill scored 16 and 15. Hill also had nine rebounds.

Jawann McClellan scored just five points, but led the team with six assists and also had five rebounds.

Kevin Bell led FSU with 12 points.

Defensively Arizona was solid, holding the Bulldogs to just 33.9% shooting. The Wildcats shot 49.1%, while turning the ball over just 10 times.
