DE or DL?

Wildcat commit Dominique Austin knew he wanted to play defensive line in college. On his official visit to Arizona, the two-star prospect learned a little bit more about where he will play.

On the visit over the weekend the NoCal product talked with the Wildcat coaching staff about his role on the team. He only committed after the staff guaranteed he could begin his career on the defensive side of the ball.

Now the question is whether he will play inside or outside.

As it stands right now, Austin seems more like an end. At 251 pounds, he would need to add at least 25 pounds to move to defensive tackle.

He prefers defensive end, but is not sold on the spot.

"I love to play defensive end," Dominique admitted. "But I will play anywhere they need me."

While Austin loves end, he may be able to see the field right away at defensive tackle. The Wildcats graduate two players at each spot, but there is more experienced depth on the edge. Inside the Wildcats are much younger and inexperienced.

According to Austin, weight will be the deciding factor.

"It is all based upon my weight," he said of a move inside.

Austin says he will not take additional recruiting trips and is firm with his commitment.

He was hosted by AJ Simmons and Donald Horton.
