Cats add Texas DT

Earlier in the day the Wildcats got good news when corner back Robert Golden committed to Arizona. The news got even better when a second defensive player pledged to the Cats.

Mayde Creek defensive lineman Jowyn Ward pulled the trigger on Tuesday.

"I committed to Coach Stoops and Coach Dimel," said the 260-pounder.

Ward visited Arizona over the weekend but left without committing. He went back to the Houston area to discuss things with his family.

A big, physical lineman he has the frame to add the size to play inside.

He was hosted by Donald Horton.

A stellar student, Ward was getting interest from a number of good academic institutions including Army. A straight A student, the big Texan wants to major in Engineering.

Ward seems excited to become a Wildcat.

"Arizona is the right place for me," Jowyn said.
