Wildcats win third in a row

Just two weeks ago Arizona basketball was searching for answers. They were 1-3 in the league and scuffling. Now after a 84-69 win over Washington, the Cats are riding a three-game win streak and are in the thick of the Pac-10 hunt.

Arizona continued their hot shooting from the outside. Jerryd Bayless and Chase Buddinger combined for 51 points. Bayless was 5-6 from behind the arc and dished out six assists. Nix Wise also dished out six assists, while Jawann McClellan added four. Jordan Hill had 11 rebounds, more than half the Wildcats' total. Hill added 16 points and six blocks. Jon Brockman led the way for the Huskies. He scored 24 poins, but was held to just six rebounds. Ryan Appleby was the only other Husky to score in double figures. He scored 13 points, but six came in the final 4:00 of the game.

Arizona used a 12-2 run midway through the first half to give them a cushion they never relinquished. Trailing 16-17, Bayless gave the Cats the lead, then Hill scored eight straight points, before McClellan put the Wildcats up 28-19.

The Wildcats further extended their lead before the half. With Bayless out of the game nursing two fouls, they scored the final eight points and lead by 13 at the break.

The Wildcats led by as many as 26 and were up 79-55 when they went to a slow down game to run the clock. The Wildcats offense scuffled in the slow down and the Huskies used a 14-5 run to make things more respectable.
