Cats add running back late

Arizona needed to add a second running back in the 2008 recruiting class and did just that. With just hours until signing day, a sleeper prospect publicly announced his verbal commitment.

Greg Nwoko, a physical running back from Pflugerville, TX, verbally committed to Arizona and will sign with the Wildcats on Wednesday.

Nwoko has gone unnoticed of late in recruiting due to some academic issues, but has apparently taken care of those deficiencies.

"When my grades improved Arizona was still there," Nwoko said.

Early in the process schools like Nebraska, Texas A&M and Arkansas were heavily involved.

Nwoko is a stark contrast to fellow 2008 singee Keola Antolin. Antolin is a speed back, while Nwoko prefers to run between the tackles.

Nwoko was recruited by Dana Dimel and the Arizona tight ends coach never backed off which was key to Nwoko's decision.

"I am signing with Arizona and that is final," Nwoko finished.
