Football season is on the way but it's always basketball season in Tucson. WildcatScoop.com will have great coverage of the basketball team from January to December and we'll start with a collection of notes of things we're hearing from around the program.

  • If the season started today, my gut feeling is that the starting lineup would be Nic Wise, Brendon Lavender, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill and Jeff Withey. Lavender may surprise some, but he is the most ready out of the trio of him, Zane Johnson and Kyle Fogg. Some feel that Jamelle Horne will start at the three and Budinger will be at the two, but I don't think that happens.

  • The Elite Camp starts Thursday and the coaches have an impressive lineup of players. From what I hear, non-committed players in town will be Anthony Stover, Andy Brown, Tyler Lamb and Anthony Brown, to name a few. This year's camp will mostly be made up of younger prospects.

  • Don't be surprised to hear that Arizona is recruiting some players with international ties. Angus Brandt, formally of Australia and now in Illinois, is one of the UA's newest recruits, thanks to Mike Dunlap's international connections.

  • Lute Olson is finally headed back home after spending almost the past month on vacation in Europe.

  • Abdul Gaddy is getting closer to a decision. On Monday, he told another recruiting service that he has a top five of Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Memphis and UCLA. However, Oregon, Memphis and Washington aren't considered serious players for him. The key will be whether or not he visits other schools. If he does, U of A fans might need to be concerned. If not, he's a Wildcat.

  • Gaddy's teammate, Avery Bradley, is not being recruited by Arizona anymore, according to sources.

  • Solomon Hill won't be at Elite Camp, but expect him to visit campus unofficially in the next couple of weeks.

  • Terrell Stoglin will be the Elite Camp and he is getting some major conference interest. However, it doesn't seem like the Wildcats are serious about Stoglin at this point in time.

  • WildcatScoop.com will provide any news that comes from Elite Camp when it hits on Thursday night.
