This is finally the year Arizona football makes a bowl game. Do not take my word for it. Take the media's word for it, the fans' word for it, or the team's word for it. This is the year everything changes.
Why should it not?
You have the experienced signal caller in Willie Tuitama. Statistically he was the best quarterback in the conference last year. Why should this year be any different? He has more weapons, a year under the system, and one of the most underrated offensive coordinators in the country.
Running back? Problem solved. Keola Antolin will come in and be the guy that makes people miss, which is what Arizona did not have. Nick Booth will come in and be the power back that Arizona needed in order to change the pace. Nicolas Grigsby will return and only be improved for a year in which we will see him emerge as one of the better threats in the conference.
Wide receivers? Best in the country. Terrell Turner, Delashaun Dean, MNike Thomas, Terrell Reese, David Roberts, Devin Veal, David Douglas, and more make Arizona the deepest wide receiving core in all the land. Tuitama will not have a shortage of weapons the rest of the conference will just have to deal with it.
The defense is too young? Don't tell that to them. Robert Golden is coming in and there is little doubt he is going to be a superstar. Whether it is getting into it with Rob Gronkowski or letting Grigsby know who is in charge, Golden has not arrived quietly. So far so good and we can only assume he will get better.
The defensive line lacks talent? Brooks Reed disagrees and he has a dominating summer to prove it. Reed was a killer on defense and he has improved enough to the point where we feel he will be one of the better defensive ends in the league. Put him next to Ricky Elmore and it will be interesting to see how teams approach the UA.
The linebackers are stronger than ever. Spencer Larsen is the only backer not to return but Arizona adds Vuna Tuihalamaka. The Wildcats will be just fine but the opponents not so much.
Arizona is going to be a much better squad this season.
But don't take our word for it.
This is finally the year
