There have been many complaints about the demeanor and attitude of Arizona coach Mike Stoops. However, Jim Harbaugh's recent reprimand shows that Stoops could be much worse. In fact, he could be Jim Harbaugh.
After the loss to Notre Dame, Harbaugh had some harsh comments about the refs.
"We got a couple really bad calls go against us," Harbaugh said. "That's what I saw from the field anyway. It's hard to imagine that people don't know football any better than that."
As much criticism as Stoops has taken, he has been careful to not criticize the refs to the extent that Harbaugh did. If that was all he said, however, it would be somewhat understandable.
However, it was not all that he did. In fact, many feel that he refused to shake the hand of Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen. Clausen took the high road and basically denied everything, but would we really be surprised if Harbaugh really ignored him?
From his comments about Michigan to the happenings this past week, Harbaugh's entrance to college football has been brash. Thus we all need to look at Stoops and realize that his sideline demeanor and such should be looked at as being part of the game, rather than how Harbaugh is coming across.
Harbaugh and Stoops have similarities
