Visits helped Wildcats

Arizona had some official and unofficial visitors in town for the Washington game. After talking to sources close to the kids as well as some of them personally, we've collected some notes on who was in town and what they think of Arizona.

  • 6-0, 165 pound cornerback Desmond Gardiner from Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas, was in town for an official and it sounds as if Arizona did a good job with him. Gardiner is still open in his recruitment and will take more officials later in his senior season.

  • 6-5, 220 pound Newbury Park, California defensive end Jackson Powell says that Arizona is his favorite following his official visit to Tucson.

    "Arizona leads," Powell confirmed to

Fresno State and California could both get visits, or he could make a relatively quick decision.

  • The last official visitor was Taimi Tutogi, a 6-2, 255 pound defensive end from Chula Vista, California. Arizona is the heavy favorite following Tutogi's visit to Tucson and he could decide at any time.

  • 5-10, 155 pound Chandler, Arizona Hamilton cornerback Ryan Milus unofficially visited, and while he hasn't come out and said it, it does seem like the Wildcats are doing a good job with him and could be the leader.

  • 6-5, 260 pound Glendale, Arizona Cactus High School offensive tackle Chris Putton also really likes Arizona, over his current offer from UNLV. He could make a decision soon.

  • 6-3, 194 pound Tucson Palo Verde High School wide receiver Adam Hall was in at the game unofficially as well. From what we hear, USC and Arizona are the favorites.
