What can we take from exhibition?

Arizona's first exhibition game is tonight at McKale Center against Incarnate Word. It's tough to take anything from the game, but here are five areas what would definitely impress us.

Arizona's first exhibition game is tonight at McKale Center against Incarnate Word. It's tough to take anything from the game, but here are five areas what would definitely impress us:

1. Emergence of a freshman

Right now it is tough to see any of the four freshmen being a star right away. However, it wouldn't surprise us if any of them were nice role players. It would be very good for Arizona if at least one freshman could step up and be more than a role player.

2. Can U of A get anything down low?

All right, we know about Jordan Hill, but someone else has to be capable of contributing. It would be great to see a good game from Fendi Onobun or Alex Jacobson, if not freshman D.J. Shumpert.

3. Defense!

When was the last time an Arizona team played good defense? I don't remember either. Will this be the team? If the Wildcats don't play good defense against Incarnate Word, when are they going to start?

Mike Dunlap has control of the team's defensive efforts. Let's see what he can do in his first exhibition game.

4. Outside shooting

This has to be a serious concern. Chase Budinger and Nic Wise have proven their abilities to hit from outside, but no one else has. There is no time like the present to start shooting well from the perimeter.

5. Effort

It would be great to see an Arizona team play hard in an exhibition, which hasn't happened in a long time. The Wildcats might as well start tonight.
