When Arizona lost to UAB, there were many people that were upset. However, the loss may have been the best thing for the Wildcats.
The win over Mississippi Valley State will not do anything for RPI, but it did allow guys to come in that may not regularly play. In addition, it gave confidence to a squad that may have lost a little.
Arizona played well in the win, with Jordan Hill finally doing what he is supposed to do. Hill is arguably the best big man in the conference, but has started slowly. However, the win on Monday proved what kind of player he can be.
As far as the other players go, Chase Budinger is starting to distance himself as the best player in the conference.
He knows that he is vital to Arizona's success and after three years, he is playing with the determination and effort that UA fans have been waiting to see him play with.
Moving on to Santa Clara, this has all the looks of a trap game. From what we have seen with Santa Clara, the guards are smart and it has a go to big man in John Bryant.
We expect Bryant to get the ball for the majority of the game, but Arizona does not have much else to worry about. If the UA can focus on Bryant and Hill does what Arizona needs him to do, the game likely will not be close.
A win today and the UA will be in good shape for the future. Looking back at it when the season ends, the two wins this week for Arizona may be more beneficial than a game against Oklahoma or Purdue.
Loss may have been better for Arizona
