Recruiting Update: Two commit, many more visit

It's a big recruiting weekend for the Arizona Wildcats. The Cats will have 15-17 recruits in town for official visits. Last weekend the Wildcats hosted six players and already three have committed to the Cats.

The Wildcats received a commitment from OL Ismael Garcia shortly after the visit concluded, but had to wait a little bit longer for the other two.

Syndric Steptoe gave the Wildcats a "soft verbal" with the intention of taking a few more visits, but decided to give the Wildcats a firm commitment and canceled trips to Arkansas and Texas A&M.

Steptoe is listed as an athlete and played quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back in high school. He projects as a wideout or a corner back at Arizona. The Bryan, Texas native caught 32 passes for 607 yards and five touchdowns as a junior when he primarily played wide receiver.

The Wildcats also received good news from junior college corner back Zeonte Sherman. Sherman is from Florida, but played last season at Western Arizona and has decided to stay in state. According to the gurus at JCfootball.com Sherman is a great player who could make an immediate impact at the Division I level. Sherman will come in and push for playing time.

The Wildcats have a number of talented guys coming in this weekend. They have nine confirmed visits after Mike Pollak backed out after committing to Arizona State.
