Recruiting update

With Signing Day closing in, the recruiting picture for the Wildcats is becoming clearer.

Signing Day is coming soon and it seems that the remaining prospects on Arizona's board is clear.

Offensive lineman Jamaal Burrell was in Tucson this past weekend and enjoyed his visit. He is down to Oregon and Arizona, though there is no word on whether or not he is leaning to one or the other.

What is interesting about this recruitment is that both schools are also recruiting Michael Philipp and it will be interesting to see what role his recruitment plays in all of this.

Tucson Palo Verde athlete Adam Hall visited Oregon this weekend, but there is no report on how it went just yet. Judging by Oregon's history, it is safe to assume that the Ducks made a solid impression.

Many feel that Arizona is the favorite here, but it may be closer than some think. We should have a better picture after this weekend, though he could drag out his recruitment to Signing Day.

As we mentioned, Philipp is being recruited by Oregon and Arizona, but there are definitely more schools involved. He visited Oregon State this past weekend and that ends his official visits. Every school involved in his recruitment feels good about it, but he could be narrowing his list by the end of the week.

Fort Scott Community College defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul cancelled his visit to Kansas State this past weekend, which has to give the UA confidence. It will be interesting to see if he gets out to Florida State and if the Seminoles offer, they have to be considered the favorite.

Lastly, Moreno Valley linebacker Eric Martin was in town and Arizona is definitely the school to beat. He will likely visit Nebraska and possibly Arizona State, but it looks as if the Wildcats lead for his services.

Stay tuned for for any more information.
