6-2, 260 lb. Junipero (CA) Serra defensive tackle Sione Tuihalamaka ended his college recruitment on Thursday when he committed to Wildcat head coach Mike Stoops and assistant Mike Tuiasosopo, who had an in home visit with him earlier in the week.
Tuihalamaka confirmed his commitment to Scout.com.
The two-star prospect had offers from Oregon and Nebraska, but family came up big in this one. Sione's brother Apaiata Tuihalamaka is a sophomore defensive end and his cousin Vuna Tuihalamaka is a senior linebacker.
"I already know a lot about them because of my brother, and I think it would be cool to play with him," Tuihalamaka said previously.
With Tuihalamaka on board, it looks like the Wildcats are done with defensive prospects in 2009, with the possible exception of Rancho Verde linebacker Eric Martin, who will most likely choose between Arizona and Nebraska.
The Wildcats already have commitments from 21 players in the class and will probably give two more rides.
